FACULTY ACHIVEMENTS:

        Dr.B.Hemalatha, HOD, Department of Civil was honoured with her Ph.D Excellency Surjit  Singh Baranala and Honourable Higher Education Minister Dr.K.Ponmudi on December 2008 at Anna University during the 29^th Convocation. 

STUDENT ACHIVEMENTS: 

• YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD

Ms.A.Vijayalakshmi has carried out a very interesting project work of comparing the design of 10-storied RCC apartment building both in Chennai and Delhi under the respective seismic forces. She has also compared the same building under wind load corresponding to the wind force in Chennai and Mumbai. She has come out with some interesting conclusions, which have a bearing on practical applications.

                  In recognition of her pursuit of research in multi-storied buildings, Indian Concrete Institute presents the Prof.V.Ramakrishnan’s Young Scientist Award to Ms. A.Vijayalakshmi.

• A Project work on “ INFORMATION SYSTEM USING GIS- A CASE STUDY OF POONAMALLEE MUNICIPAL AREA” done by M.Logesh, C. Rajesh and A. Anwarali, VII semester Civil Engineering  students of 2008 batch has been approved and sponsored by Tamil Nadu Science & Technology Council.  They received a cheque for Rs. 5000/- .This Project was guided by Mr.R.Udayakumar
